Air Time

Hey all! So, last weekend was Air Time weekend. The first Sacramento Cyclocross of the season. The venue and the course were awesome, I had never caught that much air on a CX bike, ever! There was also a good power section along the back of the race. This was my first CX race in men's B, and I did alright. I took off with my customary start that I honed during mountain bike season, it is indispensable for hole shots. I led about half the race, or took turns pulling with someone else. I was feeling really good, and having a ton of fun. There was a really cool pump track section on the course, which even had a bridge going over another section. A lot of people were able to catch air off some of the lips, which I personally had never done on a CX bike. I had a blast, and I can't wait for the next race.

Afterward, I got to hit up the indoor pump track on my dirt jump bike. This resulted in some fun hang time, using up my remaining energy. That was a workout!! But it was worth it, there were a couple of cool wall rides, and about a million wicked lines. I also got to watch this crazy kid on a bmx bike bust out 360s.

The next day, I had my very first downhill race, the Tara Llanes Classic at Northstar. I had blast, but my race didn't go quite as well as I had hoped. I still had a great time, and got to see some of my good friends, and had a great day riding with great people. I was pretty happy with my riding later in the day, I had never hit a lot of the jumps as big as I did. Practiced some very nice show air coming down live wire, boosting higher than ever, and I finished every run of the day with a giddy smile and laughter. I really enjoyed my weekend of flight, I wonder my total time off the ground? Anyway, more CX to follow, I'll keep you posted!
