The 2011 XTERRA Off Road Triathlon season is right around the corner !!!

Wow so the 2011 season is almost here . . . Wanted to be a little further ahead in terms of conditioning but I feel as if I am far ahead of where I was last year. To date I've competed in 4 off road triathlons 3 of which where Xterra's. Above is a pic from my first finish in Jacksonville FL, 09 . . . Obviously I wasn't very far along here : ) I'm just glad the guy behind me had similar feelings about the finish and it was captured on camera. Back to present time, I am stoked for this season and I have at least 9 races on the slate for 2011. My goal is to qualify for the Xterra World Championship race in Maui. Through my travels and tales for the hunt of being 1 of 500 to earn a plane ticket to Maui I hope to catch some of your interest and maybe turn a few people on to this ridiculously fun, addicting and competitive sport that I recently have become slightly obsessed with! This year I decided to take my racing a little more serious than last. In order to do so I decided to first hire a coach and second put a little more into my equipment, especially my bike. This season I'll be throwing my leg over the new Grammo 29er, I feel as if this bike will give me the best chance to be competitive. When she's all put together I think the Grammo will be right at home in the Xterra world. As soon as I get her finished I will have pictures, probably lots of pictures : ) But now let me post a picture of the bike I was riding last season just for laughs . . .
and there she is, that's right she was a 1999 Cannondale Super V 500 (Its number 26 the bright red and yellow bike) which I'm sure when the Super V rolled out of the factory she was a killer bike but in the modern world maybe just a little outdated. So with getting this new bike I feel like I paid my dues and its time for me to have a nice bike : ) I mean I rode the Super V hard for two seasons. Had some great finishes with her and every race I did I was in the top 10 mountain bike times so I can't wait to see what I can do with the Grammo. Should be a GREAT year! With out further ado I want to post my projected race schedule in case anyone is interested they can see what the wonderful world of Xterra is all about. The first link is just to get you excited about the Xterra's, the link will bring you to a video on their website and the following will be my 2011 Schedule . . .

THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in Maui

I'm going to use this blog to share all my racing ordeals as well as the training, dedication and motivation required to be competitive at the Amateur level. I will also include anything to do with mountain biking since that is why I first got involved with the Xterra's. So till next time keep the muddy side down!!!
